100 days to the start of the EUC

All the activities for the EUC Beach Volleyball Koper are currently continuing as planned. At this very moment we are expanding the organizer’s team and working on marketing, volunteers, schedules, venues, test matches and a million little things like extra ice creams. The devil is in the details, they say, but we are really trying to do our job as professionally as possible.

Now it is confirmed, that there will be 24 female and 24 male teams present at the Beach Volleyball EUC in July. In fact the interest was bigger, but there are logistic limitations and EUSA rules to be observed, so the entries ended when the full expected number was reached.

The competition will be attended by four pairs from the hosting country Slovenia. A female and a male Beach Volleyball team will represent the University of Maribor, and another male and female team will be present for the home University of Primorska. The rest of the competitors will come from all regions of Europe and some even from the Asian shores of the Mediterranean region. By the way, the last EUC which was held in the city of Koper was the Basketball EUC in 2015. And that EUC was won by the Medical faculty of the Stanbul University in the male part of the tournament, which is situated in Fatih (Istanbul), less than 3 km from the asian part of the city.

“There are a little bit more than three months to the start of the EUC and we are on schedule. Currently we are working on sponsors and promotion, getting together all the different materials, extending our team, searching for new volunteers, writing documents and signing contracts. There is a lot of paper work to be done, but for now everything is on time, so I’m confident that we will have a high level edition of the EUC in July,” says Seit Demiri, the leader of the EUC Koper 2019 organizers structure.
