The year that just started will be extremely important for the whole Slovenian volleyball movement. In the field of beach volleyball, Slovenia will host a qualification group for the Olympic Games in May this year in the well known tourist resort of Portorož (English translation: Port of Roses).
The winter edition of the FIBV World Cup is expected to return to Ljubljana, but before that the European Universities Beach Volleyball Championship will be held at the end of July in Koper.
There will be 24 men and 24 women teams at the EUC in Koper. On this occasion, we would like to remind everbody that the first deadline of registration for the universities BVB teams will expire very soon - on Tuesday, 15th of January (link: https://www.eusa.eu/media/documents/quick-registrations-guide).
And that's not all. After the qualifying wins in Iceland and Israel, the Slovenian women's volleyball team just secured its second appearance at the European Volleyball Championship.
The Slovenian men's team will be hosting the European Championship in September. The Volleyball Federation of Slovenia that the drawing of the EP teams would take place on January 16th in Brussels.
At the beginning of July, the Slovenian men Volleyball national team is also awaiting the duels for the prestigious League of Nations, which will be followed by qualifications for the Olympic Games in mid-August.
